Family Services Ottawa has been truly blessed to have hundreds, if not thousands, of volunteers and donors over our 97 years. The list is impressive both in terms of skills, experience and most importantly compassion.
On October 4th , we honoured the legacy of one such outstanding individual, Roberta Pollock. We had over 50 people join us to celebrate including family and friends from Toronto and Ottawa and Roberta’s niece flew in from Greece. The appreciative words during the presentation, the feelings of gratitude and respect evident around the room, and the warm regard from everyone in attendance is testament to this remarkable women.
Roberta was a member of our Board for 16 years and was President of the Board from 1993 to 1995. Roberta has given so much to this community; both through FSO as well as with many other charities (including a remarkable 43 years with Zonta!). To this day Roberta remains a committed ally and friend of Family Services Ottawa. A plaque will be placed in our waiting area which will become ‘The Roberta Pollock Waiting Room’.
