The number of families requesting service from the Supervised Access Program has grown over the past year. This means that the length of time that families will wait for service has increased substantially. Please note: New applicants may wait up to a year for service.
New applicants will receive a message from us acknowledging receipt of their application once both parents/guardians have submitted an application for service. They will be placed on the waiting list for interviews in the order in which they applied. There will probably be a wait of at least 6 – 8 months before we contact new applicants for an interview. Applicants seeking exchange services may expect a shorter wait.
If you have applied, please wait for us to contact you.
Supervised Access is an essential program for families and their children and it is a service that we care about deeply. Family Services Ottawa understands that the length of the wait may cause hardship and stress for many families. We are doing all that we can to increase the service available to families in our community.
The Ministry of the Attorney General is responsible for funding Supervised Access Programs across the province of Ontario.
