Our Anti-Violence Program participated in CBC Ontario Today’s call in program, Intervening in Domestic Violence, hosted by Kathleen Petty. Sandy Milne, Co-ordinator of the Woman Abuse Program and Acting Staff Sgt. Dave Bal of the Ottawa Police Service Partner Assault Unit, responded to callers around intervening in domestic violence situations.
It takes a community to intervene when there is domestic violence. For more information and understanding about domestic violence and intervening, please refer to the Neighbours Friends and Families website .
Counselling service is one option for families facing the issues of domestic violence. The FSO Anti-Violence Program provides individual, transitional support and support group counselling for women and children.
