anxiety prevention program for children 10-12 yrs
FRIENDS for Life is an evidence-based prevention program proven to be effective in building emotional resilience and teaching strategies that are practical and useful for coping with times of worry and change. These are important skills that can help children cope with stress which they can use throughout their life.
The FRIENDS program was developed by Dr. Paula Barrett, a clinical child psychologist in Australia www.friendsprograms.com and is being used in schools and clinics around the world. This program helps to normalize the emotional state of anxiety and promotes self-confidence in dealing with difficult or anxiety provoking situations. It helps children acquire important life skills which include:
Dates: Wednesdays, Oct. 2 – Nov. 27, 2019 Note: Children do not attend the first session on October 2nd.
Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Payment must be received in full in order for Parenting course registration to be completed. Our courses fill up quickly therefore, it is recommended that fees be paid as soon as possible in order to secure space in the program. Payment can be made online by credit card or by paying in person by cash, cheque or debit at Family Services Ottawa, 312 Parkdale Avenue. Payment must be received 48 hours prior to the beginning of any course or at the time of registration.
If you wish to cancel your registration, please ensure that you do so a minimum of 48 hours prior to the beginning of a course. There will be a 20% administration fee charged on course cancellations. To cancel a registration please contact the Parenting Program Coordinator at 613-725-3601 ext. 108. We are unable to issue refunds once a course has begun.
