For parents of children 6-16 yrs
Family Services Ottawa presents another series of parenting workshops for clients of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa. This 9-week course explores the challenges and opportunities of parenting children who are between the ages of 6 and 16 years old. The workshops are highly interactive and the participants will have an opportunity to learn specific techniques while being given a chance to practice them in a supportive milieu. Appropriate referrals for the course are those clients who are now caring for children or who are expected to be caring for children in the near future. Clients may call directly to register for the course.
Topics include: stress management, child development, effective discipline, health and safety, managing anger, successful communication, impact of abuse on children, problem solving, building self-esteem…
When: Tuesdays, April 20 – June 29, 2021 6:30 – 8:30

Cost: There is no fee for this group. Bus tickets available upon request.
Payment must be received in full in order for Parenting course registration to be completed. Our courses fill up quickly therefore, it is recommended that fees be paid as soon as possible in order to secure space in the program. Payment can be made online by credit card or by paying in person by cash, cheque or debit at Family Services Ottawa, 312 Parkdale Avenue. Payment must be received 48 hours prior to the beginning of any course or at the time of registration.
If you wish to cancel your registration, please ensure that you do so a minimum of 48 hours prior to the beginning of a course. There will be a 20% administration fee charged on course cancellations. To cancel a registration please contact the Parenting Program Coordinator at 613-725-3601 ext. 108. We are unable to issue refunds once a course has begun.
