As a new mom, Amelie is struggling. It’s been harder than she expected. She works most nights to make ends meet. Her anxiety is overwhelming. Amelie feels sad and finds she can’t stop crying.

MEL

Mel recently lost his wife to cancer and finds himself without employment. His
three boys are a handful. He’s tried everything but feels helpless and not equipped to be a single parent. He struggles to find time to grieve and worries about being able to provide for his family.

Ezra wants to tell their parents the truth but sees how stressed they already are and doesn’t want to burden them. There’s an exhausting pressure on them to pretend to be someone they’re not. Worrying about how their parents, family, and schoolmates will react to them transitioning just adds to that stress.

ROB

Rob is going through a difficult divorce. He finds it hard to talk to his teenage son and that his son is avoiding spending time at home. Rob worries about maintaining a strong relationship with his son while managing an emotional transition with his partner.

Ren and Kamala’s marriage had been in trouble for a while. They constantly argue and the friction between them is building. Neither of them wants to lose the family or the life they’ve built together but they don’t know how to stop arguing.

Shani recently became a single mom and is on disability from an accident. Money’s tight, and she feels overwhelmed with two little ones at home. She is experiencing chronic pain and some physical challenges due to the accident. It’s stressful trying to juggle everything in a day, and because of that stress and pain, she really struggles with patience.

John and Paul

John and Paul’s 28-year-old son lives in their basement and struggles with depression. He stays in his room for long periods of time, only coming out for food. John and Paul try to motivate him, but that usually ends in a fight. They’re worried about their son and don’t know how to support him in a way that will make a difference.

Tami-Lynn recently left her abusive partner. Now, on her own, she’s a single mother working two jobs to provide for her kids. She’ll do anything to keep her kids safe, but she’s emotionally and physically exhausted. She needs help
