Empowering Upstanders Free Training Session

January 21, 2026, 6:00-8:30 pm

At Family Services Ottawa, we are standing together with community members who are facing violence, hatred, and discrimination. Through “Empowering Upstanders” training, our Around the Rainbow program is providing the tools and knowledge to create safer communities.

In this workshop you’ll learn how you can intervene effectively without ever compromising your safety. This interactive training will teach you the 5Ds of Upstander Intervention and how these strategies can be used to support the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

Training equips participants with the tools to safely and effectively intervene when they witness anti-2SLGBTQI+ hate, harassment, or discrimination.
