Jason Kerr, BComm.

Jason is an active member of the government relations community having served nine years on the Board of Directors of the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC), the organization that represents lobbyists and public affairs professionals in Canada. Most recently serving two years as GRIC’s President (2020-2022) and previously holding roles of Vice President, Treasurer and Chair of the organization’s Legislative Affairs Committee. Mr. Kerr has also been named to The Hill Times annual Top-100 Lobbyists list eight years in a row, most recently in March 2024.

Currently, Jason leads the Canadian Automobile Association’s federal government relations activities solidifying the organization’s role as a national consumer advocate for the travelling public. As a senior member of the national office’s public affairs team in Ottawa, he is responsible for the execution of the federal government relations strategy for the organization, parliamentary outreach and leads the development of research and policy on government relations files.

Over his more than 20-years serving national associations, Jason previously led provincial and federal government relations activities for the Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada and managed industry affairs at the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA).

Mr. Kerr holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management and is an active volunteer in the community serving as a mentor in GRIC’s Government Relations Mentorship Program. He is also a volunteer for the Canadian Advocacy Network (CAN), an organization that connects charitable and not-for-profit organizations with government relations professionals offering their expertise pro-bono.

Jason loves spending time with his wife and is the proud father of two young boys and a Standard Poodle, named Nova. In the winter Jason spends his time on the slopes skiing with his family and in the summer, he enjoys road cycling and mountain biking.
